Location: Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire
Client: Developer
The brief: To obtain planning permission and prepare detailed drawings for a small development of two detached dwellings within the garden of a bungalow on the edge of a picturesque village in the Forest of Dean. The Clients were looking to create 2 similar, but not identical properties which were modern yet traditional in appearance but also which respected the neighbouring properties and site levels.
Key features:

A sloping site on the edge of a village and adjoining farmland. There were a number of neighbouring properties and particular care had to be given to protecting the privacy of the bungalow to the west. A large ornate tree was also within the grounds and all parties wanted to preserve and protect it within the final design.
The approved designs created two fantastic but modest sized 4-bed dwellings with separate garages and a study, together with a lounge for relaxation and a large open living space which connected to a contemporary feel garden room, complete with bi-fold doors and roof lantern to enjoy in all weathers.

Our role:

To work closely with the Client to obtain all planning and building regulations consents and to produce the necessary drawing package and documents to support the Clients in seeking prices for the construction.

Timeline: Appointed April 2019, with full Planning Consent obtained in February 2020. Detailed drawings were prepared during the early summer months of 2020 and construction is due to commence in spring 2021.

"I really appreciate all that you have done throughout this project...particularly in light of the current difficult circumstances.

I'm sure we will be calling on your expertise again shortly."
